The Power of MyRotation AI as Demonstrated by a Case Study

The schedule of a single, small nursing unit in a system of one of the 10th largest health systems in the world was processed through MyRotation.

The results were as follows:

• First, the rotation was run through the Checker Module and 46 baseline violations were identified – over staffing was occuring.
• The Optimizer Module was then utilized and it was determined that only 14.32 FTE’s were required versus the 16.76. Fte’s were reduced to 14.32 and the number of positions decreased from 20 to 18.
• The revised numbers were sent to the Solver Module and a new rotation was created that was 100% compliant.

The Value of Increased Scheduler Productivity as Demonstated by a Proof of Concept Project

Project Design:

• 10 veteran schedule builders and one user from MyRotation Team.
• The scheduler builders would manually build and compliance check 10 schedules that represented a good sample of various schedule types that exist in the organization.
• The Schedulers would then use MyRotation to build and compliance check the same rotations.
• MyRotation participant would build and compliance check the same test cases to act as a control group.

Results:

• Schedule Builders average process time – 86.3 Hours
• Schedule Builders average process time using MyRotation – 7.32 hours.
• MyRotation participant process time – 4.7 Hours
• Outcome:
  • Schedule builder time reduction of 78.98 hours with 100% compliance
  • Schedule Builder productivity increased 11.8 fold
  • MyRotation participant 18.5 fold more productive than manual process time
